Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” leads No.1 on the U.K. singles chart since tow weeks

Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” started a second week at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart yesterday, ahead of a strong debut by London indie band the Noisettes with “Don’t Upset The Rhythm” .

Ronan Keating’s covers collection “Songs For My Mother”secured a second week atop the album chart.

The US pop singer, who performed her track exclusively live for MTV, sold just 5000 more copies than The Noisettes debut single 'Don't Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go)', who enter the chart at No. 2.

Lady Gaga’s single, also currently in a fifth week at the top of Billboard’s Eurochart Hot 100 Singles compilation, prevented the Noisettes from a chart-topping start with their first top 40 hit. “Rhythm” opened at No. 2 and is the second single from the trio’s second album “Wild Young Hearts,” out in the U.K. Apr.20.

There were three fast movers in the new singles top ten. BeyoncĂ©’s “Halo” (Columbia/Sony BMG) climbed 9-4, the “Slumdog Millionaire” soundtrack single “Jai Ho” by A.R.Rahman featuring Pussycat Dolls 20-5, and Metro Station’s U.S. top ten hit “Shake It” (Columbia/Sony BMG) 22-9.

Katherine Heigl wants to stay in "Grey's Anatomy"

Katherine Heigl, 30, who plays the part of Dr. Izzie Stevens in "Grey's Anatomy".Last friday Katherine Heigl said that she's ready to stay with "Grey's Anatomy" and the decision rests with the show.

Attending a studio party to mark the ABC medical drama's 100th episode,Katherine Heigl said it's premature to think her days as Dr. Izzie Stevens are numbered.

"I was assuming that at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go," Katherine Heigl said.

"I don't know if I live or die. I don't know how Izzie fares," said the actress, who's played the character since the show debuted in 2005.

"I'm there" if Izzie remains part of "Grey's Anatomy," Heigl said. She called the set "one of my favorite places to be" and said her colleagues are also friends.

On Thursday's episode, Izzie was seen surviving brain surgery. There's been speculation that Heigl wants to pursue her blossoming film career ("Knocked Up," the upcoming "The Ugly Truth") full-time, and that her character might be killed off.

"I don't know if I want to continue for five years working 12 months a year, but I can take at least another year or two," she added.

Britney Spears need help????

Either Britney Spears really wants to be free from father and conservator Jamie Spears, or someone is doing their best to impersonate the pop star in a recording making the rounds on the Internet.

The friction between Britney and her dad has been no secret so far this year. In late February, Jamie Spears - who controls all of his daughter's affairs - reportedly went ballistic on Britney got her hands on a prepaid phone and was dialing up Adnan.

The recording is allegedly a voicemail from Britney, asking a lawyer to help her out with her case against her father and the conservatorship currently in place. In the a message allegedly left by Britney Spears, worrying that daddy Jamie might take the kids from her.

A source close to the conservatorship says that really is Brit's voice, telling OK!, "It's the real deal. This is what convinced Jamie to go back to court to have the restraining orders reinstated against Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib."

On the tape, she says:

"Hi my name's Briney Spears. I called you earlier. I'm calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of the eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, that you know, he'll take my children away. I just want to be guaranteed that everything will be fine with the process and that you guys are taking care of everything, that things will stay the same as far as my custodial time. That's it, bye."

The tape, which celebrity gossip photo and news source JFXonline claims was recorded on January 21, 2009, sounds like a message left for a lawyer. No one knows who the lawyer is for sure, but TMZ believes that it's the dude who's been meddling in Britney Spears' affairs for about a year now.

Jamie is also in the process of trying to shut down a fan site of Britney's for reasons unknown. Is he ruling with an iron fist or just doing what he needs to?

This sounds like a job for someone to SAVE BRITNEY!

That part is just our theory. But in the voicemail - if it's legit - Britney Spears or someone who sounds like her talks about ending the conservatorship ...

Britney's little sister's new decetion,''Cancell her Wedding"

More scandal Wambie girls! Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears has become the center of drama once more now that Lynn Spears has has refused to get married and cancelled her wedding. For the moment, it looks like Jamie Lynn and her boyfriend Casey Aldridge will continue to live together.

The "Zoe 101" star Jamie Lynn Spears made headlines when she announced that she was expecting a child with her boyfriend and that they plan to walk down the aisle together. She was just 16.
The teen couple grabbed the attention of tabloids again shortly after the birth of their daughter, Maddie Briann, in June, when it was rumoured that the couple were living separately after Aldrige cheated on Spears.

In October, Spears vehemently denied infidelity rumours and insisted that they were going ahead with the wedding. But now those plans are scrapped as she does not need an official ceremony to validate their love.

According to an insider, "She has told friends and family she's never coming back to Hollywood. She feels that part of her life is over. Jamie Lynn enjoyed every minute of doing 'Zoey', but since she's had Maddie, her life has changed completely.

"She's happy being a real hands-on Southern mother and hopes to continue that for years to come with Casey right by her side. Jamie Lynn knows she needs to make a living when she grows older, so she's already discussing her career options with advisers. She wants Maddie to grow up in comfort."

The young mum also appears to be enjoying motherhood and is ready to put aside her career in order to raise her daughte.

Rihanna Guns For New Tatto

Rihanna has acquired a new piece of body art -- the pop star has had a tattoo of a gun inked under her right arm.

The 21-year-old flew New York-based body artist BangBang to Los Angeles this week to have the new design finished.

The singer originally wanted two handguns printed on the tops of her arms. Reportedly not wanting to jeopardize her modeling contract with Cover Girl Cosmetics, she is said to have opted for a less visible tattoo.

BangBang has posted pictures of his day at Rihanna's L.A. home on his MySpace.com page, telling fans about his experience.

He writes, "I really wanted to put it here (on her arms) ... She loved 'em. But, Cover Girl wouldn't have liked it much ... and they pay the bills! Ended up doing it on her ribs."

BangBang has worked with Rihanna on several of her other tattoos, including the famous stars design on her back, lettering on her shoulder and hip, and the 'Shh...' stamp on her right index finger.

REESE WITHERSPOON's new animated debut "MONSTERS VS. ALIENS" gets top of the US chart

REESE WITHERSPOON's animated debut, MONSTERS VS. ALIENS, has scared up a box office hit in the U.S. - her new film has opened with an impressive $58.2 million (£41.5 million).

Doing any animated flim is a different challange for any actor.Because tools like body movement, facial expressions and hand gestures are no longer available to sell a scene.Animation offers a world of opportunities: It is the film genre where animals can talk, toys come to life and even a petite Oscar-winning actress can become an all-powerful defender of the galaxy.

In the new movie "Monsters vs. Aliens,"Reese Witherspoon's one of the toughest action heroes to come along.

"I've been offered a lot of animated films. Sometimes, they were playing the girlfriend and sometimes the girl who got rescued by a guy. I just felt like this was the first opportunity that was presented to me where the woman was at the center of the movie,"Reese Witherspoon says during an interview at the Four Seasons Hotel last week.

In the new movie "Monsters vs. Aliens," Witherspoon's one of the toughest action heroes to come along.

Witherspoon's character is your typical bride-to-be until a close encounter with a meteor turns her into a super-strong giant.

"This is the first movie I have ever done that had this much action in it. I was thrilled, because I can't imagine any other world where that opportunity would present itself to me,"Reese Witherspoon says.

Resse Witherspoon says that there were recording sessions where she had to run in place, sound winded, make grunting and action-hero kinds of noises that proved physically taxing.

Director Conrad Vernon stresses Witherspoon was a trouper through the numerous recording sessions held over a two-year period. The most difficult part of directing Witherspoon was trying to get her to sound a little bit more like a superhero.

"They wanted me at the end of the movie to kind of talk with an action-star voice. That is not a voice I know or have in my repertoire. So they kept trying to coach me to be more like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone,"Reese Witherspoon says.

"She deepens her voice and says, "I am Ginormica!"

"They were like, 'No, that sounds like a robot,'" Witherspoon says.

She tries again, "I am Ginormica!"

The actress explains that after several such failed attempts during the recording session for the movie, the director actually told her to stop and drink some tea. Her voice sounded bad.

This is Witherspoon's first animated film. Her co-stars are veterans.

The movie scored the top spot ahead of another debut, horror thriller The Haunting in Connecticut, which took the new number two spot with an opening weekend $23 million (£16.4 million) take.Nicolas Cage's Knowing drops to three from last week's top spot.

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise will start an united romantic comedy

Smiling from ear-to-ear, Cameron Diaz couldn't have looked happier as she arrived in Britain last nigh.

Cameron Diaz's boyfriend Paul Sculfor was nowhere to be seen as the A-list star touched down at Heathrow, but from Cameron's happy appearance he can't have been far away.

The Hollywood actress has been dating Essex-boy Sculfor for nearly a year and the couple live together in her luxury LA mansion.

Cameron has denied rumours she is planning to get engaged to the former-brickie, whose ex-lovers include Jennifer Aniston.

The trip comes just as it has been announced that Miss Diaz is in talks to join forces with Tom Cruise in an untitled romantic comedy - their first time onscreen together since “Vanilla Sky”.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz may star in an untitled romantic comedy formerly known as 'Wichita' and 'Trouble Man' at 20th Century Fox. The story, to be directed by James Mangold, centers on a woman with a horrid romantic history who keeps crossing paths with a mysterious guy she met on a blind date.Scott Frank is rewriting the script, reports Variety. Mangold's Tree Line Films partner Cathy Konrad joins as producer with Joe Roth, Steve Pink and Todd Garner. Chris Tucker and Eva Mendes were reportedly attached to the project last year.

Virginia Madsen' Interview about her new movie

A tart romantic comedy set in California wine country, "Sideways" earned Virginia Madsen a Best Actress Oscar nomination and reinforced her status as a mature thinking person's sex symbol — a vintage that improves with age

Virginia Madsen's been a prominent film actress since the 1980s, but there's still more of Chicago than Hollywood in Virginia Madsen. In a telephone interview, the "Haunting in Connecticut" star was refreshingly candid about the ups and downs of her life and career.

The Interview
:

Q. You have parallel careers, it seems, appearing in indie films like "Sideways" and "Prairie Home Companion," and then appearing in horror films. Is that a matter of going where the best role is or a conscious decision to diversify?

A. Oh, I like that more. I'll go with that one. In the case of "The Haunting," I'd been looking for a good horror script since "Candyman" in 1992. I don't know how many of them I read. I'm so particular about what I want to do in that genre that I figured I could wait. If audiences care about the people on the screen things become much more frightening. And I wanted it to be real terror, not slice and dice. When I was growing up, television would show classics like "The Mummy" and "Dracula" and "The Wolf Man." How they would photograph things was so beautiful and artful and the actors were so good. I always thought it would be fun to be in one of those.

Q. The film claims it's based on a true story. Really?

A. When I first got this script, I knew this story. It was a based on cable channel TV documentary called "A Haunting in Connecticut." Of course, we embellished and made it much larger, but it's inspired by the things this family said really happened to them in their house next to a cemetery.

Q. Your character just can't catch a break. Her son has cancer, her husband's an alcoholic and her house is haunted. What's it like to play a character that suffers and suffers and suffers?

A. I looked at her as a very strong mother who is going to save her son. A mother who is battling against God or the devil to keep her son with her. It would be a fight to her own death if necessary, and I understand that. I have a 14-year-old. Sometimes I feel like I'm battling against the forces of evil!

Q. You've got quite a voiceover resume as well with superheroes, and now you're Queen Hyppolita in the "Wonder Woman" animated movie just released on DVD. Is it true you took up vocal acting when you were pregnant with your son?

A. I did. I started out with a book on tape and when you're that pregnant you can't sit for that long, you have to roll around. But I stuck with it. Most of the jobs you do, you're not going to make a lot of money. Later you might if you get a running series or do something for Disney/Pixar ... There are a lot of actors who think it's really easy and it's not. They get surprised when they get in the booth and realize you can't use your arms. You have to learn how to work the mike. But it's so creative. I get to play characters no one would ever let me play onscreen. Once I played a giant brain, this power-hungry evil brain. I kept growing larger and larger as I took in more data and I exploooooded. I actually got to say, "Curse you," before I exploded and I made all these horrible noises.

Q. Your next role is in a biography of Amelia Earhart directed by Mira Nair. You play the first wife of Amelia's husband, opposite Hilary Swank and Richard Gere. Does that mean you're the evil other woman?

A. We're all friends, actually. The marriage between Dorothy (Madsen's character) and George (Gere's) was over for many years and she actually left him and went on to have a long relationship with a much, much younger man. I liked that part. I hint to Amelia that she should be with George. I'm glad that they didn't simplify that relationship and make me catty, because that's often the only way women are portrayed. We're mothers or we're catty.

Q. You've been an actress since you were a teenager. How has the industry changed?

A. There's more of a greenlight for independent films now, which is always healthy for the industry. "Frozen River" went all the way to the Oscars and that's a movie they made for half a million dollars. That's exciting. As women, we're still limited in the roles we're given. I haven't worked in a year, and that's frustrating. It's not that I couldn't work but there was nothing worthwhile.

Q. Last year you opened your own production company, Title IX. What kind of films will it make?

A. We're not going to make all female-centered films. The statement we're making with the name is that it's time for a change. It's our turn to play. We should be allowed on the playground now. The first film we've got going into production is "The Bell Jar" starring Julia Stiles. We'll start filming in July in upstate New York. I'm going to play a small role in it because it helps to get financing if I'm in it as well.

Q. Do you have any particularly fond memories of working in St. Paul (Minn.) with Altman on "A Prairie Home Companion"?

A. Oh, I loved that Fitzgerald Theatre. Everybody came to work and hung out all day long even if you weren't working and just stayed in that beautiful theater watching everybody else work. It was such an incredible atmosphere in there and no one ever dreamed that would be his last film. It was a very homey atmosphere there, and being from Chicago, I loved that there was White Castle.

Q. Was it poignant to play the Angel of Death on the old maestro's final film?

A. I know, I always feel kind of strange about that. He really designed that character from head to toe. He was so specific on what he wanted me to look like, what he wanted me to move like and sound like. It was strange but I wanted to do it just the way he wanted me to do. I thought he was very close to the other side and this to him is what an angel looks like. And I hope that she was there waiting for him.
